Kilclooney More is one of the best-known portal tombs in Ireland. The capstone rests on two portal stones at the front and slopes down to the rear, the characteristic profile of the type.[1][2]

Two portal tombs share a single long cairn here, an arrangement recorded at a small number of Irish sites. The tombs have not been excavated in modern times; their Early Neolithic attribution follows from dated portal tombs elsewhere.[2]
